The Vintage Purse Museum consists of an incredible, real-life collection of thousands of handbags, accessories, and ephemera amassed over four decades. Many of our fabulous items are from the mid-century modern era, and others are much older. There are also some of more recent manufacture, which we like to call "future vintage."

About Us

Our collection is privately housed in Tucson, Arizona. It is also a unique, online-only museum, meaning you may visit anytime via your desktop, laptop, or mobile device from anywhere in the world. The museum is always open and admission is always free. Our primary goal is to document handbag history before it's lost to time, so we are constantly researching handbag origins and facts, and adding our findings to our Photo and History Archive. We often reach out to relatives and former employees of midcentury handbag makers for their unique perspectives, and are honored to have shared many of their stories.
